LMAO. Yes, I am obsessed with LotR. I admit it. I don’t think there is a 12 step program for us, though…

Kiss the Fellowship Okay, so it’s not the real thing, but it’s as close as I’ll get, barring a Jesus-is-Risen kind of miracle…

The list of original song nominations for tonight’s Oscars ceremony
promises few surprises. Sting will competently deliver “Until”
from “Kate & Leopold”; Randy Newman, celebrating his 16th Oscar
nomination, will trot out “If I Didn’t Have You” from “Monsters,
Inc.,” with John Goodman supplying backup.
Faith Hill will attempt to inject life into six-time nominee Diane
Warren’s “There You’ll Be” from “Pearl Harbor”; someone, maybe even
Himself, will trill Paul McCartney’s “Vanilla Sky” from the film of
the same name. First-time nominee Enya will probably be the musical
highlight with “May It Be” from “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the
Rings.”
Sadly, there will be no rumpled Elliot Smith shambling out to bring
indie rock to the masses with “Miss Misery”; no Isaac Hayes tearing
the stage apart with “Theme from ‘Shaft.'”
The ceremony could be saved from its self-induced doldrums if only
the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences were savvy enough to
recognize the real rock stars in its midst–five lads whose cuddly
good looks, ensemble charisma and youthful charm have already made
them teen idols.
We’re talking about Hobbits, of course. More specifically, the four
Hobbits (and one Elf) who star in “The Fellowship of the Ring.” A
quick check on Yahoo. and MSN.com shows that the Fellowship Five are
fast gaining on ‘N Sync as fantasy boys du jour: Wistful reveries
about Justin Timberlake alternate with lustful longings for Orlando
Bloom (Legolas Greenleafs, the sexy Elf); fan fiction pairs JC Chasez
with Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins, the immaculate Hobbit).
Combine four Hobbits, an Elf, two turntables and a microphone and you
have the makings for the biggest teen sensation since Lou Pearlman
figured out how to make little girls scream. And the Academy Awards,
alas, might have followed Ed Sullivan into the history books by
presenting their musical debut.
Picture the Fellowship Five ascending from a fiery pit, surrounded by
a spectacular mockup of the Mines of Moria, singing “Pop (the Gandalf
Remix).” Visualize Frodo and Legolas battling for lead solos while
Samwise “Sam” Gamgee (Sean Astin), Peregrin “Pippin” Took (Billy
Boyd) and Meriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck (Dominic Monaghan) harmonize in
the background, their hairy feet slapping rhythmically over the
screams of the crowd. A smoky Balrog demon supplies pyrotechnics.
Sting attempts a cameo and is incinerated. In the front row, Kevin
Spacey swoons.
Thanks to the academy’s lack of imagination, tonight’s ceremony will
feature no such spectacle. But there’s always next year, when a
computer-generated Gollum could deliver a trip-hop rendition of June
Carter’s “Ring of Fire” to commemorate the release of “The Two
Towers.” By then, of course, the Fellowship Five will be old news,
Middle Earth will be at war and Newman will be up for his 17th berst
song nod for a composition titled “Short People (With Hairy Feet).”
The saga continues.
Oh man, that would be funny. Can’t you just see it?
Yay! Just thought I’d share that a whole lot of people have visited this blog. I am always amazed when i look at the tracker. Apparently something like 263 people have visited here, not including reloads… I’m sure 100 of those are from me updating, but whatever. People have even done searches and ended up here! How cool. I am so ready to get hosted 🙂 should I get the free domain/7.95 a month or the $5 domain/$5 a month? hmm. Why don’t you sound off and let me know what you think? Come on, you 263 people you…
Happy Easter! He is Risen, indeed.
Went to my uncle’s house for Easter dinner, very good. My mom baked an egg cake (not a cake made of eggs, but a cake shaped like an egg) and it sort of fell over. It ended up looking like a turkey. Or a volkswagon beetle.
She was kind of peeved because I went to see Lord of the Rings for a seventh time between church and going over to my uncle’s instead of helping her decorate the cake. But I don’t know how much I could have helped the cake not to fall over.
Yes folks I did in fact see LotR:FotR for a seventh time. Solely to see the preview for TTT (The Two Towers). And Legolas. *swoon* Yes, I am obsessed. So shut your yap and deal. If I could get it on cd for my computer I would watch it all the time. OMG the preview was so cool. It looks like it could be just as good if not better than FotR. And Lego… mmm. As Michael said in Michael: “Battle! Battle!” God I cannot wait till December. Or August, or Sept or Nov when the DVDs come out. I am in a quandary about whether or not to buy the regular version when it comes out in August (like an early graduation present) or the ethel deluxe version when it comes out in Sept(? or Nov?) or just screw finances and student loan repayments and buy them all. Well, have to get a DVD player first.
My mom said she would pay for a domain name for my easter present. How cool is that? www.jennifershew.com and www.etoiline.com coming your way! I hope. check out icdsoft the company I think I’ll get hosted on. Perhaps. I don’t know. We’ll see. it’s finally a reality! Sort of. Yep, I’m babbling.
So I have to review someone’s blog. Click here. I’ll work on my review soon. note to self… review due Apr 8! I wonder who is reviewing mine? Hope you like ramblings 🙂
Feast your eyes on the glorious elf (courtesy of orlandomultimedia.net):
