sigh. sometimes we have fun doing this design project, but then we realize how much crap we have to do and it’s terrible. I feel like I’m not contributing very much. All I seem to be doing right now is (not really) writing the paper and preparing my presentation. I’ll probably end up presenting the poster as well, which is not that big of a deal, but will be interesting because I won’t really have time to do it, what with conference the weekend before and all. Oh well. It’s going to be an interesting week and a half. And how the hell am I supposed to finish rewriting this damn lab notebook?
on a totally unrelated note: I finished the fourth Harry Potter book today. Very good, although I wish I could have reread the other three books first… it’s been some time now since I read them, and while she mostly doesn’t require you to remember things from the other books there are some parts where you really wish you did. Kind of amazing that I finished it in about a week, I suppose, given the amount of other crap that I should have been doing… needless to say I didn’t get a lot of sleep this week. And I’ll have less now that I left this lovely message for you, my wonderful fans… yeah right. Barring an Orlando Bloom-just-graduated-from-theatre-school-and-got-a-part-in-LotR-and-now-the-girls-love-me miracle (maybe not the girls loving me part, but guys welcome) I will not have any fans read this anyway. Well, maybe Lammy’s a fan. Maybe. I love you Lammy!
shut up! Go to sleep!

hmm. Have I told you lately how much I hate this piece of crap design project? This time next week I will be in Atlanta, baby! But the hoops I have to go through to get there…. shut up and do your work, biatch!
Immortalized by the famous “Draco Sinister” (by Cassandra Claire), you are witty, sexy, and the typical bad boy girls love. You are paired with Ginny or Hermione, because they remind the author the most of herself. You have sudden special powers that enable you to go along special Voldie-killing missions with Harry and Co. At first you get on everyone’s nerves, especially Ron’s, but soon everyone learns to love you.
Everyone.

Yeah right. Only half-addicted? Hmm. Well, give me camping and I’d probably forget. At least for a while. Until I wanted to see a new pic of Orli.
you guys ready for a long one? Here goes…
So I’m a senior in college. (Hence the piece of crap design project…) This is my last year, and my last track season. The big meet of the season is outdoor conference where all the teams in our conference get together and my school usually wins. *crosses fingers, hope the trend continues* Usually, outdoor conf is held sat-sun, while indoor conf is held fri-sat. Don’t quite know why, but that’s the way it’s always been.
This year, however, outdoor is fri-sat… which I only recently found out about. I heard something about them moving it because of the MCATs (med school admission tests if you didn’t know) on that sunday, but honestly, who’s going to try to take the MCATs the day after a big track meet? Not too many people especially when most of the people will be travelling quite a bit (the conf is in Georgia, I’m in Missouri, for example).
Soooo, the big deal. I knew I would have to reschedule my test on that friday, but then I found out about the fri-sat thing which means I’d have to miss my classes on thurs. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but that thurs also happens to be the last day of the semester for that class. The prof gives out handouts, but you really have to be there cause he gives more detail in class and some things aren’t on the handouts. I had to miss two classes before the last test and that really made a difference in my grade for said test.
However, I could just go late to the meet (fly out to Atlanta by myself later in the day). But I would miss the practice at the track there and bonding with the team, which I’d rather not. It’s my last one, and I’d like to be there for all of it.
Therein lies my dilemma. Miss the class, or go late to the meet. I don’t want to do either.
All that on top of the fact that the design project is due in less than a week now.
Gaah, you made it through that?
I admire your perseverence.
I appreciate sympathy, but this was really just a rant.
Postscript: I posted this yesterday on the OT Arrows thread at FF. Since today I’ve talked to my prof in neuroeth and he said that I should just get the lecture notes etc. I asked some random person to take notes for me… not actually the person I meant to, so I will probably just ask this other person and have two people’s notes… I’ll just miss the class and be with the team. I’d rather be with them than in class any day. and my biomech prof so helpfully reminded us that there’s a test a week from thurs, which is just another permutation in the wrinkly life I lead… luckily there’s another girl on the track team in that class with me so we’re both taking the test a day early. During my hour and a half break between classes. A week from tomorrw is going to be interesting. Sigh.
Dr Minor told us he would take us out for a drink and pizza after this whole debacle is over. Thank God it will be in a week. But man, the hoops to go through to get to next week…. oh lord. Somebody Save Me!
I love those secret diaries. Ms Claire is a very witty person. I’ve got the Legolas diary on the Realm if anyone is interested.
