Rings Thing

Standard

Rank the Fellowship in the order (best to worst) that you like them.
Explain why.

1. Legolas. Do I really need to say any more?
2. Aragorn. The manly type, oh yeah, and he’s the hero king.
3. Frodo. He’s cute, and he has to bear the Ring.
4. Gandalf. yeah, he’s a wizard.
5. Merry. He seems slightly more intelligent than your average hobbit…
6. Boromir. Even though he died… he’s still cool. And he’s got a big horn.
7. Pippin. He might not know what he’s talking about, but at least he’s funny.
8. Sam. Not too fond of the obsequeious “Master Frodo” thing.
9. Gimli. I hate to say it, but I just don’t like dwarfs. I must have elvish blood.

This or That

1. “Gone With The Wind” or “The Wizard of Oz”? Probably Oz. Haven’t seen GWTW enough for it to qualify.

2. “Toy Story” or “Shrek”? Shrek, again, only cause I’ve seen it more.

3. “Saturday Night Fever” or “Grease”? Grease, of course.

4. “Casablanca” or “Citizen Kane”? Umm. Never seen either all the way through.

5. “When Harry Met Sally” or “You’ve Got Mail”? When Harry Met Sally.

6. “Forrest Gump” or “Titanic”? Ooh, toughie. Forrest Gump is the better movie, but Titanic is more romantic.

7. “Pretty Woman” or “Working Girl”? Pretty Woman. It’s funnier and Julia Roberts is, well, prettier.

8. “The First Wives Club” or “Thelma & Louise”? Erm, First Wives Club…don’t think I’ve seen T&L all the way through.

9. “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” or “James & the Giant Peach”? Willy Wonka.

10. “Legally Blonde” or “Bridget Jones’ Diary”? BJD, cause I haven’t seen LB and I don’t really care for Reese Witherspoon.

A woman had identical twins, and gave them up for adoption. One of them went to a family in Egypt and was named Amahl. The other went to a family in Spain; they named him Juan. Years later, Juan sent a picture of himself to his mother. Upon receiving the picture, she told her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amahl.

Her husband responded, “But they’re twins………. if you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Amahl.”

PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 2.38

1. When I was young, my Mom would always drink a cold Dr. Pepper in

the morning. Me, I can go either way. I like a Cold Frappucchino in the Summer

months and switch to warm Mocha Espresso in the Fall. Do you like to drink

warm beverages in the morning or do you prefer yours cold?
I’m a cold girl, I always have milk and orange juice for breakfast.

2. Have you ever been so upset with someone that you wanted to get

revenge? What did you do? Or if you didn’t, what would you like to have done?
Yes, but I am too nice for that. Besides I’d have no idea what to do. I’m not a revenge oriented person.

3. Sometimes I can look back at my past and see so many things that I

was too naive to take advantage of. A time where I could have moved ahead in my

career if only I’d chosen to move, the High School girlfriend who said she would

do anything if I just asked, and so on. Looking back, are there any

opportunities you missed out on that you can see now but didn’t realize then?
Theater. God, how I wish I had gotten into that earlier. I had such a good time when I started doing it that it was so sad when I had to stop after two years when I graduated high school.

4. Today I tried on my black slacks, and they are just a skosh too

tight (yeah it’s a real word, look it up). Of course, I wore them anyway. Are

there any clothes you refuse to throw away even though they don’t (and never

will) fit? Why do you keep them?
Yes, because a) I’m a packrat, b) alot of them have sentimental value (like tshirts from Girl Scout camp when I was eight or someting like that) and c) someday I might give them to my children. And watch me have all boys 🙂

5. Although my speech classes eliminated most if it, I still have a

little Okie accent left. I say “Git” instead of “Get” and “Collar” instead of “Colour.”

Do you have an accent? Are there any phrases or words you say that tip folks

that “you aren’t from around these parts?”
I am from these parts, so I say I go to Warsh U and I warsh my clothes and I use a fark, not a fork, and I drive on highway farty-far, not highway fourty-four. I also say ‘git’, but aside from random things that I don’t notice, I think that’s it.

6. Speaking of phrases, it really drives me nuts when folks say “very

unique” (Unique has no degrees, it is either unique or it isn’t) or

“irregardless” (not a real word). Are there any words folks misspell or

incorrect uses of words that simply drive you insane?
I hate it when people misuse effect and affect. And I REALLY hate it when they mix up ‘your’ and ‘you’re.’ Or ‘its’ and ‘it’s.’

7. I am guilty of using pet names a bit too often, like “honey,”

“babe,” and “sweetie.” However, currently, no one uses any pet names on me (and

I think I’d like one). Are there any pet names that you like to be called? Any you don’t? Do you (or did you) have any pet names for your partner? I don’t mind ‘hon’, ‘sweetie’ or ‘love’. I get called ‘Shewie’ by most of the track team. Doesn’t mean I like it. I really like my first name; I wish people would use it more often. I really don’t like it when my mom calls me her ‘munchkin’. I know it’s a term of affection but I’m not a short person from the Wizard of Oz. I did have names for Chris, but that was ages ago and I don’t think I’d tell you anyway.

BONUS: Why you so fly? Me? Fly? I don’t think that term has ever been applied to me.

Only geeks would celebrate this one…

Just in case you aren’t an avid Lord of the Rings fan like me, I thought I’d remind you (even if it is a little late) that today is Bilbo and Frodo’s birthday smile Yes, I know I’m obsessed. So what?
In other reality news, Jodie and Dan got married today. None of you probably know them, but they were founders of the showchoir I joined in college. Said showchoir is now I believe defunct, without the superior leadership of said couple and the glorious voice of yours truly; I am not modest and never said I was smile Now I have to say that I almost never tear up at things, I never cry. Even romantic movies don’t move me to tears. But the ceremony did. I guess it’s just that I knew them so much better than Kristi and Nathan, who invited me to the only other wedding of friends I’ve been to. But I really got choked up, when Jodie walked down the aisle (she looked so beautiful in her dress) and when they read their vows. There was a reverend and a rabbi, cause Dan is catholic and Jodie is jewish. They really love each other, it’s amazing. A very emotional ceremony.
Makes me want to get married. Too bad I have no guy. It also makes me jealous, much as I hate to admit it, cause they’ve been together so long, every one knew that they’d get together in the end, and they’re so in love. I’d like to be in love again. Or maybe for the first time, considering.
I miss romance in my life so much…

Thank you, friends
