but I act like it. I just spent two days of pay at Borders. But I think it’s all worth it. Well, sort of. Now I doubly have to get a dvd player cause the new DMB cd comes with an extra DVD full of extra stuff. I miss ethernet more than ever now, cause most of the cds I got have extra internet stuff… maybe dsl, someday…
My haul: DMB, Busted Stuff. Goo Goo Dolls, Gutterflower. Josh Groban, self-titled. Spiderman, soundtrack & score. And a Legolas starter deck for the Lord of the Rings TCG. Not that I’d ever play, but if I somehow get back in touch with Jess I bet she would.
Got my Legolas poster today, from the company in Germany. I love the internet. I just wish it was faster here at home…
and because the a/c on the station wagon is still not working, we have a courtesy car from the shop, a Ford Taurus, or one of the bug cars, as I used to call them. It’s rather different to start than our other cars, and the shift is on the steering column instead of at the right hand. And wonder of all wonders, you can’t drive with the emergency brake on! Like it’s supposed to be, lol.
A little John Mayer for you, because I get to see him in two days ![]()
cause I wonder sometimes
about the outcome
of a still verdictless life
am I living it right?

mind control and busted stuff
StandardSo I was just staring out the window, waiting for some cells, when I see this pigeon alight on the parking garage next door. So I stared at it and started thinking, come to me, little birdie and the like.
And wouldn’t you know it, the bird didn’t move an inch. It looked at me for a good long time though.
However, I started looking out the window in the first place because I had never seen the metrolink crossing closed so the train could go through.
And wouldn’t you know it, the gates were going down at that instant.
So I guess I’m neutrally telepathic, eh?
I bought the LotR dvd today. And the Art of LotR. What a deal. Got free shipping and everything. Haven’t seen my lovely digital content yet though. And my buying spree is not done yet, for I have to go back to Borders, where of course the two cds that I wanted to get at Target are on sale. There, instead of at Target. Grr. At least my dad is nice and drives me. Dave Matthews, here I come. I still need a dvd player though.
Won’t it suck if I have to pay for parking? ew.
God I love this song. Kiss the Rain by Billie Meyers. I remember when I was going out with Chris and we started to have problems, I listened to this single for hours. I wrote out all lyrics. It was perfect for what was happening with us at that time.
I miss a boyfriend. I find it supremely ironic that this lab has only two guys, and they’re both married. Why are there no cute scientists?
Geez, what a rant. I’ll shut up now.
Etoiline (11:42 PM): I hate mosquitoes, but they love me
Etoiline (11:43 PM): I’m so sweet
Aratlithiel (11:43 PM): haha
Aratlithiel (11:43 PM): mosquitos love me too
Aratlithiel (11:43 PM): they love my legs
Etoiline (11:43 PM): any part they can get on me
Aratlithiel (11:43 PM): its the ice cream 😉
Etoiline (11:43 PM): riiiight
Etoiline (11:44 PM): ..wait a minute, so I’m made of ice cream?
Aratlithiel (11:44 PM): lol
Aratlithiel (11:44 PM): LOL
Aratlithiel (11:44 PM): why no, of course not
Aratlithiel (11:44 PM): then I’d want to eat you too
Etoiline (11:44 PM): oh dear, that could be a problem.
Oh yeah, and I burned myself with phenol this morning. I was dropping things left and right. Gaah. All that work for nothing.
I really want the LotR:FotR dvd. Both of them. All of them. Why can’t I be rich?
Happy birthday, Harry Potter! Too bad I’m not a naturally talented, slightly disheveled, orphaned but rich as Rockafeller wizard. I can read the book though. All four that are out in paperback, anyway.
Happy Birthday, Harry Potter
StandardYes, I realize he’s just a piece of fiction, but he’s a damn well written piece of fiction. And the fourth book came out yesterday, so I had to get it. And The Bourne Identity. I love bookstores. I should just work for a bookstore and get loads of books. Of course, I’d never make any money cause it would all go to books. Sigh. I almost wish you could read more than one book at a time. I don’t mean read one book for a while and then read another then go back to the first, I mean two streams of novels would go into your head at the same time. But notice I said almost. Then you wouldn’t get to enjoy them so much, and you’d have less to read later. Books will never go out of style. They’re the original portable 🙂
today was a load of work for nothing. The bacteria still haven’t taken up the DNA in the right way or something like that. All that work so we can take a picture to see that nothing’s like the way it should be. Arrgh. Which means I have to pick more colonies. Another day of fun for Jenn.
Lammster and Kitt… thanks for your commenting sprees 🙂
I really really want: Carol Berg’s Transformation and Revelation, Dave Matthews Band’s Busted Stuff (which is a studio version of The Lilywhite Sessions, go fig), Goo Goo Dolls’ Gutterflower. And I really really really x1000 want the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring DVD (theatrical and collector’s editions), the dvd player to play it, and the Art of the Lord of the Rings coffee table book. Donations cheerfully accepted.
This or That…
Standard1. Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton?
Keaton, only cause he could do that trick with the building falling on him but he’s standing in the window space so he doesn’t get hurt.
2. Laurel & Hardy or Abbott & Costello?
Abbott & Costello… who’s on first?
3. Marx Brothers or Three Stooges?
I hate slapstick.
4. David Letterman or Jay Leno?
Jay Leno.
5. “Saturday Night Live” or “Mad TV”?
SNL, although I hardly watch it.
6. Adam Sandler (“Mr. Deeds”) or Mike Myers (“Austin Powers”)?
Mike Myers. I don’t like Austin Powers though.
7. Jerry Seinfeld or Ray Romano (“Everybody Loves Raymond”)?
Raymond. I don’t like seinfeld, he’s too abrasive.
8. George Carlin or Bill Cosby?
Bill Cosby. I grew up with the Cosby show.
9. “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” or “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In”?
Monty Python.
10. Gone but not forgotten…John Belushi or Chris Farley?
Belushi, I guess. Animal house, baby!
Ring Thing…
StandardAre you buying both the August and November DVD (or VHS) releases of the
film? If you are just buying one, which will it be and why? Is the content
of the different versions (different cuts of the film, different extras,
etc.) good marketing or corporate greed?
I will probably end up buying both the editions, if just the August VHS anyway. I’ll probably try to bum a August DVD viewing off a cousin or friend just so I can see the 10 minute preview. I am definitely buying the collector’s edition, cause I want the National Geographic dvd and the Argonath bookends. And of course, the 30 or so minutes of extra footage. Oh yeah, my name will be in the credits of the Nov. editions… so I’ll just have to get those. I like the different editions, although I’ll admit it does seem a little excessive. However, in this case I’m glad. There was so much more that needed to be told…
I’m very iffy on that 30 days thing. :look:
I love the new layout hon. Very elfy *lol*
30 days? hmm
and because I’ve been looking for this forever….
