PromoGuy dot Net: Comment on Monday Mission 3.32

1. Over the weekend, the folks at work cleaned out the refrigerator. Now this is a wonderful thing when you consider the food sometimes lurking about. Not so good when you have forgotten to take your leftovers home. So when I came in today, they had tossed out my Asiago Cheese Bagel from Panera Breads that I was looking forward to eating for breakfast. They even threw away the Tupperware of cream cheese I brought. Talk about a disappointing way to start your day. Have you ever been looking forward to something so badly that you were just crushed when it never happened? Ooh, asiago bagels. I’d be peeved as well. Does looking forward to Nationals and not making it count? I swear. we were so close, and we couldn’t cut those tenths of seconds off. There are probably other things I’m forgetting, but obviously can’t remember them at this moment. My mom told me about the day she kept thinking she smelled Chevy’s mexican food all day in the car and dreamed about going home and having the leftovers from the day before, then realizing the reason she smelled them in the car was because my parents had left the take-home boxes in the back of the van all day…and therefore they couldn’t be eaten because they’d sat in the hot sun. She was truly disappointed.

2.Have you ever been told about a wonderful present that you were never given? Maybe they went as far as telling you exactly what it was, how wonderful it would be and how much they would have loved for you to have it, but for whatever reason, they wouldn’t be giving it to you after all? How did you feel about that? Oy. I don’t think so. I’ve been lucky enough to get just about whatever I wanted, and no one was mean enough to do that. There have probably been little things, or at least things that aren’t important in the long run, but again, recall that I don’t remember my childhood.

3. What is the longest time you’ve ever kept a secret from someone, or, are you still keeping it? How did it feel to keep it so long? Can you think of a situation you were in where a secret should never have been told? Hmm. I’m still keeping secrets from over five years ago…I don’t think I’ll ever tell anyone about what happened during some of those nights with DT.

4. In past relationships, I’ve usually been the one who has told the lies. When they came to light, the results were devastating. The few times I found out I was lied to really gave me a sense of what it must have been like. Have you ever been lied to by someone you trust with all your heart? How did it feel when you found out that trust had been broken? Oh. Yeah. Lies. Perhaps it wasn’t so much lies as being blinded to the truth. It hurt. It really did. And it took me two years to get over it. In some ways, I’ll never be over it, really.

5. When, if ever, is it acceptable to tell a lie? Are “white lies” any different than the “real whoppers?” You don’t tell someone they look fat. You compliment your five year old cousin when he gives you a mud ball. Is that bad? Is it the same level as lying to your parents about where you went last night? I don’t think so. Some lies are necessary for politeness. Obviously it’s a matter of opinion. Be polite, but as honest as you can be.

6. I’ve found that when it comes to forgiving, I am a contradiction. If I’ve hurt someone I get mad when they won’t forgive me right away, but when I need to forgive someone else, I find it hard to do. How are you on forgiveness? Are you able to easily forgive someone who’s hurt you? Well. most of the times when I need forgiveness it’s because I’ve wronged my parents, or I feel they’ve wronged me. So it’s not so much easily forgiving as loving too much to be angry for too long.

7. When I’m feeling down, or have no energy Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” never fails to perk me up and get me going. What song gets your feet going and your energy flowing? U2’s Where the Streets Have No Name. Or something John Mayer, at least right now.

BONUS: Why not come dancing? You’d have to pay to get me in the club, though.
