Small HP Book 6 spoilers ahead, if you haven’t read it yet.
If you’re an obsessed Harry Potter fan, Voldemort isn’t the problem. It’s Hermione versus Ginny.
I didn’t really hear about the ‘scandal,’ but if you’ve read my main journal you know that Harry ends up with Ginny in Book 6 of HP rather than Hermione, as I would wish (you know, the bookworm with the sometimes-popular hero), and rather abruptly too, in my opinion. Of course, I’m biased towards H/Hr, since that’s the easiest fantasy I can imagine, but I’m not quite as vociferous about my ship as other people out there. I want everybody to be happy and not die, lol. But I still think, even if I wasn’t the type of shipper I am, I would have problems with the way the romance was written in the book. I mean, (switching fandoms for a moment) I was all for the romance with Anakin-Amidala, which could have been sweet and poignant and made Anakin’s change from good secretive lover to evil-ass bad dude all the more powerful, but unfortunately George Lucas can’t write that way, and neither can JK Rowling. Ah well. On the whole it was a good book so I can overlook *some* things…
