Results from my first time shooting handguns last night. I’m not going to join the NRA, but Kate wanted to take a gun safety class, and I was curious what actually holding a gun was like. We used .22 revolvers and semi autos, a .38 special revolver, and 9 mm and .45 semi autos. Yes, the gun is heavier than you expect. Pretty sure that the shots outside the bullseye were from the larger caliber guns, with their higher recoil. Now when I read or write about guns, I’ll have the right idea of what it feels like. #strictlyforresearchpurposes
Never held a gun before?
Never a handgun. Just the BB guns that grandpa had, when we’d shoot at empty beer cans way back when.
I am shocked! Where did you go? Top Gun in Arnold?
Bullseye on Manchester. We had a sometimes-inappropriate-joke-telling instructor named Jerry. They have beginner gun classes every Thursday.
I have not heard great things about that range. Fyi, papa helped build that range originally.
I most likely won’t be going back, because it’s pretty expensive, and I don’t really want a gun. But I did want the experience. And apparently, I can in fact aim at something that’s 7 meters away, so that’s nice to know. Cool about papa though!
Yeah, it was a lot nicer when grandparents and parents paid for shooting.
Yeah, being an adult is kind of annoying that way.
