God willing this will be the last countdown entry. My dad should be here in about a half hour to pick me up, then I’ll go home and drive back to the school area to pick up people and we’ll go to dinner. Then we’ll won’t freeze our butts off (it’s supposed to be in the 50s all night! How weird is that, in the middle of december?) for the two hours beforehand. Maybe we’ll just sit in the bar nearby the theater and play cards all night, lol. Or something. Gah. Midnight must come faster! I know I am gonna be so tired tomorrow. That’s what I should do now. Take a nap so I can stay up through the whole movie! Wouldn’t that be so terrible if I slept through part of it! I’m sure someone would wake me up though. lol. Note to self: not obsessed. Really. Although you could buy me the really large Legolas poster that just came up (and is already sold out) on Allposters.com (see link in the sidebar to go to my referral site
) and you wouldn’t be reminding me that I’m obsessed.
For all of you out there waiting with me, I’m sorry
it’s coming!

Seven Hours…
StandardNow I’m just bored. But if you go to this site every day http://www.excedrin.com/ (after you vote for my site of course) and click on the logo you can make them give $1 to Toys for Tots. Go for it! And don’t forget about thehungersite.com and other such things…hopefully it makes a difference!
9 hours!
Standardno, I’m not obsessing.
Also, it’s Bernard Hill’s birthday today. He plays Théoden in the movie I’m about to see
Look, not just posting random TTT countdowns!
11 hours!
Standardsheesh, can the day go any slower?
In case you stop by here on your way to buying me christmas presents (hah, yeah right) I just set up an American Eagle Outfitter’s wish list. So in addition to your Amazon.com choices you could make me all warm by buying me sweaters ![]()
This or That
1. Christmas dinner: turkey or ham (or something else)? Um. Not really. We usually have sandwiches. Maybe this year we’ll have turkey.
2. Candy canes or chocolate? Chocolate. I used to hate candy canes, unless they were the fruity kind.
3. Fruit basket or fruitcake? I have to say I’ve never actually *had* a fruitcake. So I guess fruit basket.
4. Mulled cider or mulled wine? Mulled cider, just cause we don’t drink that much…
5. Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate. With marshmallows!
6. Holiday cookies: homemade or store-bought? Homemade, of course. By me or my dad.
7. Roasting chestnuts or popping corn? Don’t think I’ve ever had chestnuts, although I did have roasted almonds at the renaissance festival last year…so popcorn.
8. On the buffet table: veggie platter or cheese tray? Crab dip!
9. Apple or pumpkin pie? Apple 🙂
10. Christmas Day breakfast: before or after gift-opening? Umm. Depends on a) how late we get up and b) how hungry we are 🙂
One Day!
StandardThat’s all I can say. Oh, and happy belated birthday to Miranda Otto, who plays Éowyn. Her birthday was yesterday.
One Day!
Real life sucks, btw.

PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 2.50
1. So, what do you want for Christmas this year that you probably won’t get? A PS2 with the Lord of the Rings game.
2. What do you know you will be receiving for Christmas this year? Lots of love.
3. If you had the means to do so, what presents would you get some of your fellow bloggers? Be specific, it’s more fun that way! Domain and space! Who’s looking for hosting? I’ve got some room at etoiline.com…
4. Do you support any organizations that provide for the less fortunate during the holidays? Or do any volunteer work? I should, shouldn’t I. I feel like such a lug. I haven’t even given to the Salvation Army Tree of Lights yet.
5. Each year about this time, I notice Church attendance seems to spike, then drops off sharply after Christmas. It tickles me that these folks think they are pulling a fast one on the Big Guy. What is the most recent
thing guilt has motivated you to go? Umm, my mom. That and the rather sucky deal of getting fired.
6. According to the commercials, the only way to truly tell someone you love them on Christmas day is to let them “Unwrap a Jaguar” automobile. Are there any examples of excessive commercialism and/or blatant disregard for the “Christmas Spirit” that really get under your skin? Well, if that was the only way then most of the world would be screwed, eh? It sort of bugs me that the holiday is so commercial, but since I generally don’t watch the ads unless it’s say, the Gap “stripes” commercial, I don’t really care. It’s not like the car commercials are gonna make me buy a car, or the diamond ads to buy a diamond…don’t have the money anyway. Sort of makes it a moot point.
7. I remember a song where the singers wished they could teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony. What would you like to teach the world? How to dance. Yeah right. Naah. Right now I don’t think there’s anything special about me that would require me to teach it. I’m pretty normal.
BONUS: Do they know it’s Christmas time at all? I sure hope so.
Got a Christmas tree yesterday. Hopefully decorate it today.
TWO DAYS!!! *ignores fact that she sucks at job*

some not good news today. but I can’t write about it yet. for me the grief is still too near.
Did you know?
According to American traditions, two foods are thought to bring good luck if eaten on New Year’s Day: black-eyed peas cooked with ham (the richness of the meat symbolizes prosperity) and cabbage (which is thought to bring the blessing of money — the green leaves — in the new year).
In other countries, people eat foods that are round, symbolizing the continuity of time and the seamless end of one year and beginning of the next. Examples include doughnuts (Holland), lentils and round sausages (Italy) and candied chestnuts (France).
