I am always surprised when I find out that I’m sore after a six-hour writing marathon. #stlnano #eosr #nanowrimo

You get ideas from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time. The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we’re doing it.
-Neil Gaiman

(Nov 20 2011 was STLNANO EOSR. Tried to do multiple Google Hangouts, but…
Jennifer Shew: Trying this again.
Heather Dudley: Meh, I tried to get in, but unfortunately, wireless here at NOWD is a bit flaky.
Jennifer Shew: There are so many of us using the WiFi here at our regional event that they had to reset the router. )
It’s nice to be able to prove to the tech help that the PBKAC really isn’t BKAC, but in the software. Vindication!
Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot.
– Neil Gaiman
Ana Vargas-Machuca: Neil Gaiman is such an amazing writer. Love the way his mind works.

Happy Halloween! Who’s dressing up for a party tonight? And who’s getting ready for #NaNoWriMo?

Make NaNoWriMo Great
StandardThis year marks my eighth year participating in NaNoWriMo and my fifth year as a Municipal Liaison for the St. Louis region of said program. That means that I’ve written at least 350,000 words in the last seven years, and I plan to add another 50k onto that this year. Maybe more, if I can cudgel a few more ideas out of this brain of mine. So I think I have a pretty good idea of what makes for a good time while you’re on your crazy experience with literary abandon.
Please send your goodwill into the world. There are people hurting out there.
