make a face
See what you look like as a guy or a baby or an anime character with this fun site. This is their idea of me as a Mucha painting. Too bad I'm not really that pretty!
Gotta go buy a digital converter. Silly government coupons expiring.

Dareon
Dareon is the main character in my 2006 NaNo novel. I realized when I picked up my sketchbook I hadn't done anything since June and those were just sketches. This one was quick, but I'm happy with it. Though he does remind me of Cate Blanchett for some reason. I feel like I've seen that expression before on her face...
and yay for old-school colored pencil.

Draw me!
Went home and watched Alias that the folks thankfully taped for me yesterday...(Lauren Reed! Agggh!) and scanned in my new Orli drawing (just in time for Orli's bday
)...it was one of those that just begged to be drawn. Hope you like.

Will Turner part deux
click for full size
Finally got that scanner I've been waiting for. Yay! And to test it I finally got to scan in the Will Turner drawing that I did back in August. Much better than my previous attempt, I think.
Random news:
I'm wearing a violently purple shirt today. But I love it.
The Scottish Games are this weekend. I'm going to go, I hope, as it's in the park just to the south of the new apartment...
I'll be at work for a long time yet. Silly ELISAs lasting 6.5 hours.
I'll be alone all weekend because Leo and Alex are going to (drive to) Philidelphia to meet with one of Alex's friends, and my parents are going to Indiana to meet with my great-great aunt Jewel. (At least I think she's my great-great aunt.) I might go see Everest at the Omnimax. I love that film...it was the first IMAX film I remember seeing and the music is great.
I need bookshelves for my room at the apartment. Remember me saying you never know how many books you have until you have to move them?
We now return you to your regularly scheduled surfing.

Gallery goodness
The Aspire Gallery is up, in its mostly final phase, I think. There are a few modifications I could make (aren't there always?) but it's a mostly self-sufficient site
Check it out and let me know what you think! You can leave comments on the images, even if you're not a user. If you'd like to post pictures just leave me a comment somewhere and I'll see what I can do! Enjoy!
The Evanescence concert is tonight. Should be interesting...I heard a rumor that there would be video games as pre-show entertainment. Forget the opening act(s...there are three, I think!) just get on the provided PS2 or xbox...lol.
TTT comes out next week!

pretty pictures
The Aspire Gallery has moved! Sort of. Not that you knew there was a gallery, did you? Actually it wasn't common knowledge. But I found a nicer one that should allow for more customization. Only Orlando pics and some miscellanys up now. Feel free to ask and I will give you access to upload
But please feel free to browse.

Summer Sickness
Around Thursday afternoon sometime I realized my throat was a little raw. So even though I'd had a pretty big lunch I had some clam chowder I'd brought along, and that made it better...but then Friday came along and I definitely had a sore throat. Saturday I was coughing too, although not so much that I annoyed fellow movie-goers as I finally got my parents to see Pirates with me. Sigh. Today I had a stuffy nose. Still do as a matter of fact. Wish it weren't so. Silly sicknesses. I don't know if this is some bug I picked up at work, a bug my dad picked up at his work (he's not sick but a coworker is), a bug I picked up at Comic-Con (probably the most likely) but whatever it is it sucks. As I said, I saw Pirates for the third time, so the weekend wasn't a complete bust...finally got my copy of the soundtrack as well, so that was nice music to work with during my next attempt at a Will Turner portrait, based on this picture (which I'll attempt to scan sometime when it's finished...need to find a scanner that works with this old a version of Mac OS) and played a little bit of guitar. Badly, realize. Still very much learning. One of these days.
Since I've got a slight fever of 100, I'm heading to bed shortly even though it's only 11 pm. I hate being sick. Really. I also hate spam. No spam! It sucks! Goodnight...and don't forget to comment on the layout! What do you think of the first Orlando-less design?
