PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 2.46

1. When I was a teenager, I used to ride all the “spin-y” rides at the

fair and fun parks. I’d never get dizzy or sick, and I could ride them all day.

My favorite was the Tilt-A-Whirl. Now I should call it the “Tilt-A-Hurl” because

it seems I can’t even get on a Merry-Go-Round without feeling queasy. Is

there anything you used to be able to do physically that you no longer can? What

changed?
I used to never have a problem with the Tilt-A-Whirl, until I went to the Gasconade County Fair at least a decade ago and stuffed myself with cotton candy and random hard candies we’d gotten from the parade. I was feeling ok before the ride, during the ride, and pretty much after the ride, until we got into the car, pretty soon after riding. (It was the last ride we went on before the ride back to StL from Hermann MO, we were visiting a friend) I didn’t feel so good, and suddenly, ew, I threw up. All over the back seat. It was not pretty. We had to drive the entire way back with the windows open. Needless to say, we drove quicker. I think I’m ok with it now, I just don’t have cotton candy before hurl-inducing rides 🙂 I am rather sad that I can’t read as much when I’m on a long car trip. Sometimes I get a little queasy, or I just get tired.

2. If you could go to lunch with someone famous, anyone living or dead,

who would you choose? What questions would you ask them?
hate to be a cliche, but eating with Jesus would sure be interesting. Although I’d probably do one of those :jawdrop: moments and forget everything I would say. And to add insult to injury…I’d rather eat with Orli. We could see if he really won’t convert to omnivorousness. “How do you like being adored by millions of women all over the world?

3. On that same thought, there are probably several Bloggers you enjoy

reading but have never met in real life. Which one Blogger would you most

like to meet for dinner? Why did you pick that person? What would you talk

about? What do you have in common? What would you do after dinner?
Hmm. Since I’m going to meet Lammy and Kitt for a whole week, I suppose I’d like to meet May. She’s always so funny and we’ve got that connection thing going…but along that same vein, why not the entire Filippino Fellowship? Too bad we’re on different sides of the world. What’s life like over there? What does your accent sound like? What kind of movies other than the Lord of the Rings do you like? (PS for the FFers reading this, feel free to respond 😉 )

4. Money (or the lack thereof) is the number one cause of arguments

amongst couples. Do you find this to be true? If there really was a “Money Tree”

you could go an pick, would this really solve a couple’s problems?
Yes, I think money causes a lot of problems, and it doesn’t have to be between couples, it can be between the whole family, as it was this weekend when we were trying to decide what tv and dvd/vcr to buy. Erm. have to pay for half of it. But I get to watch LotR whenever I want (excepting certain primetime evenings) so that’s cool. And it comes up alot when I go shopping and bring home new books or cds. Should be saving for grad school, blah blah.

5. Speaking of arguments, have you ever been drawn into any nasty, hateful

arguments? The kind where hurtful things were said that had nothing to do with

the fight at hand? What was that all about? How did it turn out?
Well, yeah, with my parents. Mostly my mom. She wants me to lose weight, wants me to save more, tells me to get more sleep, be more responsible, etc etc. It’s tough for me to argue though. I don’t think things through enough.

6. When was the last time you had to admit you were wrong about something?

How did that go?
Probably sometime last weekend. Or when Mom was mad about the thing for Grandma’s 75th birthday. She was right, it will be difficult to do, and I admitted it. But it’s a cute idea nonetheless.

7. Now for a slight change of theme….what song should never have

been written?
Black Velvet & I don’t know much…but I know I love you.

BONUS: Are you ready for a new sensation? Hell, yeah.
