Happy Birthday to me

Well, if you haven’t gotten the subtle hints I’ve dropped the last few days, it’s my birthday. I’m 22 today, and my present to myself is that I’m seeing Dave Matthews Band with Hallie. I got an impromptu birthday singing just after I brushed my teeth (of course), and my cake was a fortune cookie. My fortune was “an absent friend will visit you” or something like that, which is true, being that I haven’t seen Hallie all summer. There was another fortune in the cookie… written on the same paper as sits by the phone for messages smile it predicted a bright future. I love my parents. It’s my parakeet’s birthday as well. Happy birthday Sapphire! He’s 9 this year. Hard to believe I’ve had him since I was 13.

Ahh, the nostalgia… appropriate, I suppose, to remember the past on my birthday?

1. Sesame Street or Captain Kangaroo? Sesame Street.

2. Muppet Show or Fraggle Rock? ooh, toughie. Probably the Muppet Show. Cause although I know I loved fraggle rock, Kermit and Co are indelibly etched in my mind.

3. He-Man or Jem? Excuse me, but I prefered She-ra. By the Honor of Greyskull! I had the entire outfit, of course.

4. The Smurfs or Muppet Babies? The smurfs (totally different than #2, I know. I have my ideosyncrasies…

Rings Thing

So much of The Fellowship of the Ring concerns the journeys of the main characters, whether it be quests for knowledge, duty, or self-discovery.
Do you think the characters (main and secondary) choose to go on these quests of their own free will, or are they compelled by fate and/or circumstances?
I think it’s a mix. I think most of them chose to go on the quest… some were compelled. I don’t like the idea of “fate is the only thing guiding our steps” but I also don’t like the “I am the one entity responsible for what happens to me.” I think there is a destiny for everything–everything happens for a reason–but we can do certain things to make things happen the way we want them to.
Short answer… but CsCl prep calls.

1. What do you do to make things better when you feel sad and/or lonely? Read, write, or sing along (LOUDLY) to Moulin Rouge or RENT. Or talk to Lammy 🙂

2. Are you a “touchy-feely” person? That is, do you like to touch people

you don’t know that well? And on the flipside of that, do you like being touched

by someone you aren’t close with? I am touchy-feely if I like the person. Like as in “am friends with” as well as “ooh that’s a hottie.” However, there are times when even I get the personal-space invasion feeling.

3. Do you like to have “me” time, time to yourself to be alone and relax?

Or do you prefer to just do your own thing with someone else in the room? When

was the last “me” time you got and what did you do? I love to have me-time, but even then there’s too much of a good thing. I like being alone cause I can read whatever I want, be in any position I want, wear what I want, and sing at the top of my lungs if I want to. Yesterday when I was bored I zipped through this really good book and half the sequel.

4. Generally speaking, how do you feel about the concept of marriage? Are

you the marrying type? Do you think the act of getting married means something

today or is it simply just “a piece of paper?” I will get married someday, and I know it will be right, or God is just having a really good joke at my expense. I want to get married if nothing else so I can have the white princess dress. Kidding. I think it means something if you’ve truly found the right person. I’m so tired of being alone, so hurry up and get here. Bonus points if you know what that’s from.

5. That said, as many as 25 states have passed legislation regulating

who they believe should be the “marrying type.” What are your thoughts on the

banning of same-sex marriages? I don’t really care either way. If that’s what suits you, you shouldn’t have to fight to be together. I have some good gay friends. But marrying two goats… that’s just weird.

6. If there was one law you had the ability to create or change, what

would it be? that what we imagine in the realms of fantasy never comes true. Magic exists, dammit!

7. What would you like someone visiting your Blog for the first time to

know about you? Now is your chance! I have a transformation fetish and I can run really fast.
