“Television – a medium. So called because it is neither rare nor well-done.”

–Ernie Kovacs

Why I Am So Tired

For a couple years I’ve been blaming it on iron poor blood, lack of vitamins, dieting and a dozen other maladies. Now I found out the real reason. I’m tired because I’m overworked. The population of this country is 237 million. 104 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, which leave 48 million to do the work.

Of this, there are 29 million employed by the federal government.

This leaves 19 million to do the work.

Four million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 15 million to do the work.

Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Government and that leaves 200,000 to do the work.

There are 188,000 in hospitals, so that leaves 12,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 11,998 people in Prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me . . . and you’re sitting there reading jokes.

Hello folks. Not too much going on right now. I’m pretty much done for the day and I have to wait for my dad to come pick me up. I should have brought my comp, now that I think of it. I could have run over to the shuttle stop and had them pick me up right now so I can work on that other job. Yeah. I should do that anyway, I just can’t use their ethernet. Man, I miss it. Mom won’t let us get cable internet cause she says cable is her one indulgence and if we get cable there’s more possibility of the repair people coming over. and she doesn’t want that. I don’t want it either, when you think about it, but I don’t want that slow modem either. We’re over on hours at home so technically I can’t go online at home until next friday, unless it’s an emergency. Blah.

I guess I have to figure out what DSL is all about.

Anyone know differently about the cable stuff? Does it need as many repairs as cable tv does? Cause apparently now they’re going to start charging for the repair visits, the greedy little…

Man. I miss summer already. I wish I had more time to write now that school is all over. Did I tell you I didn’t get into UC-Davis? Sorry Lammy. No visits this summer…. no big though. Whatever. I know I’m good 😉 I keep telling myself that I have to just go home and write, but it’s tough, cause I’m usually tired and hungry. I whine a lot, don’t I? Ah well. I think that’s enough ranting for now…

Emode.com – What’s Your Lucky Charm? – Four-leaf Clover

Even if you’re not from the green isles, you just might share in some of that luck o’ the Irish. The four-leaf clover is your lucky charm.

Druids used four leaf clovers to see evil spirits and friendly fairies. If you start seeing magical things however, we recommend laying off the clovers for a while. In fact, you don’t even need to possess the actual clover. A necklace, pendant, key chain or tattoo promises the same good fortune of the ancients.

Take note brides and grooms?the mere dream of a four-leaf clover foretells of a successful marriage. Actually finding one might mean quadruplets.

Emode.com – What’s Your “Survivor” Strategy? – The Hunter

The Hunter

Your Survivor Strategy is to be The Hunter — to be the best at providing food, water and shelter for your tribe. You have the skills to keep yourself alive in the harshest of conditions, but keeping your whining tribe members alive might be a different story.

You are incredibly independent so you don’t have to worry about being a burden to your tribe. Yet your expertise could come across as bossiness if you’re not careful. Your biggest challenge won’t be hunger or heat but relying on others’ abilities during the immunity challenge. If you can do that, you should be able to last well into the later rounds.

The Big Question: Can the Hunter Strategy tolerate tribe members who don’t pull their weight?

Immunity Challenge Strength: Tests that require someone to take a strong lead and direct their tribe.

Emode.com – What’s Your Beauty Aura? – Natural

When it comes to how you present yourself to the world, you strongly believe that keeping things simple ? whether it’s your relationships, career, or face soap ? is the best way to be beautiful. You’re satisfied with what nature gave you and aren’t afraid to show your confident, unadorned self to the world.

Your beauty routine is all about maintenance. You keep your skin clean, your body moisturized, and add a splash of color to lips and eyes when the situation demands it. Other than that? You feel best looking as fresh as nature intended. In the course of being au naturelle you may sometimes forget to cut loose and have fun. You should feel free to dress up now and then or splurge on a scent. Spoil yourself, now and then, as nature intended.

1. What’s the last vivid dream that you remember having?

Umm, I don’t usually remember my dreams. But the most vivid dream I’ve ever had was obviously the one that inspired the Moonstone Chronicles. Read it and find out.

2. Do you have any recurring dreams? Well, not unless you count the many many times I have daydreamed about TMC or Legolas or Roswell…

3. What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? This one wasn’t that scary, but it was so real that I was sure it happened… my ex was chasing me through this office building, more like hunting (there’s much symbolism behind that, but I’d have to know you alot better before I’d tell you) and I was trying to get away. I eventually did. It was probably me trying to deal with breaking up with and getting over him. I’m sure I’ve had other really scary nightmares (I spent my share of time in my parent’s bed) but I can’t remember them.

4. Have you ever written your dreams down or considered it? Why or why not? Umm, did you read the first post? Most of my writings come from dreams or daydreams. They’re the ultimate fantasy source.

5. Have you ever had a lucid dream? What did you do in it? Again, not unless you count the times when I conciously try to direct my dreams by thinking about them or rather vividly imagining them before I go to sleep. I did dream up an entire trailer for my novel, complete with special effects and an actual ending (I know, trailers don’t show the ending, but it was a dream) starring me, of course… and I promptly forgot it the instant I opened my eyes. I can just remember that it was spectacular. Someday, grasshopper…

This was a good one. I love these.

Goodnight, I must to bed so I don’t fall asleep to the drone of the fume hood and start dreaming of Lauriel and Faldor…amin irma na edhel…

Just so Lammy doesn’t think she’s the only one who likes this guy…

LOVE SONG FOR NO ONE

Staying home alone on a Friday

Flat on the floor looking back

On old love

Or lack thereof

After all the crushes are faded

And all my wishful thinking was wrong

I’m jaded

I hate it

I’m tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

So tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

Searching all my days just to find you

I’m not sure who I’m looking for

I’ll know it

When I see you

Until then, I’ll hide in my bedroom

Staying up all night just to write

A love song for no one

I’m tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

So tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

I could have met you in a sandbox

I could have passed you on the sidewalk

Could I have missed my chance

And watched you walk away?

I’m tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

So tired of being alone

So hurry up and get here

You’ll be so good

You’ll be so good for me

Where’s my someone?

Ah, finally. Lammy is back on! Hon, I love John Mayer. You should check out the entire cd when next you’re in a record store, which will of course be when you’re purchasing the soundtrack to RENT…

yeah, I’m a working girl. Read all about it here. I’m too lazy to type it out again.

I miss Roswell.

Thank you for the message, Alex.

I want to be Lauriel.
