Noro lim, Asfaloth! Noro lim!

Ride fast, Asfaloth! Ride fast!

So I should say Rima lima! lol. Perhaps rima lim instead. Sounds a little better, hmm?

Yep, I’m obsessed with learning Elvish. Funny that I can spend so much time learning this imaginary language and I can’t study for the GRE which is (damn!) in a little over 24 hours. Sigh. The rigors of grad school applications. Strange that I would be obsessed with learning Elvish and not study for the GRE.

I. Do not. Like. Applying. To. Grad. School.

Ceci suces.

Can someone tell me why it costs money to apply to school? Won’t you be paying them enough when you actually get in that they don’t have to charge you $65 to send them a bunch of paper (or in this day and age, a lot of bytes)?

I really hope that my references are nice to me. *sniff* God it’s going to be so painful if I don’t get in anywhere. Damn that calc three class. Why oh why did I listen to my advisor! “You have to take calc III next semester.” Why? I’ll just do badly in it, I did badly in II. . . why don’t I take it over the summer so I can devote all my time to it? “No, no, you have to take it next semester.” And did I end up taking it AGAIN in the summer? YES!!! Gaaah. yes, I am a math impaired engineer. I am such a contradiction in terms.

I probably just ruined my chances of getting in by putting that on the web, but oh well.

Still keeping your fingers crossed that I will make it into that program in Bath??? I didn’t think so. Please let me get in.

Great. Wasted 15 minutes writing this thing. Gotta get back to the CEC so I can spend even more time in front of a computer. Sigh. I hate design projects.

I’m shutting up now.

NO SUCH THING

“Welcome to the real world”, she said to me

Condescendingly

Take a seat

Take your life

Plot it out in black and white

Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings

And the drama queens

I’d like to think the best of me

Is still hiding

Up my sleeve

They love to tell you

Stay inside the lines

But something’s better

On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school

I wanna scream at the

Top of my lungs

I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world

Just a lie you’ve got to rise above

So the good boys and girls take the so called right track

Faded white hats

Grabbing credits

Maybe transfers

They read all the books but they can’t find the answers

And all of our parents

They’re getting older

I wonder if they’ve wished for anything better

While in their memories

Tiny tragedies

They love to tell you

Stay inside the lines

But something’s better

On the other side

I wanna run through the halls of my high school

I wanna scream at the

Top of my lungs

I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world

Just a lie you got to rise above

I am invincible

As long as I’m alive

I wanna run through the halls of my high school

I wanna scream at the

Top of my lungs

I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world

Just a lie you’ve got to rise above

I just can’t wait til my 10 year reunion

I’m gonna bust down the double doors

And when I stand on these tables before you

You will know what all this time was for

Oh yeah. Dave Matthews Band is coming back to StL on my birthday! Yes! Maybe I’ll get to go this year! But what is this s**te about Riverport being the UMB Pavillion now?? I hate sponsorship.

Oh yeah. So I didn’t qualify, in case you were wondering. I managed to run worse in the hurdles, the worst time I have run yet this season. I didn’t do terribly in the 55 m dash, a middle-of-the-road time, which baffles me because I should have run great with the competition that I had. I did end up running my best indoor time ever in the 200 m, (indoor, mind you) but it’s still not the greatest. Why oh why didn’t I qualify?

Rima ten’ta! Rima arauka!

That’s Elvish (as in Elves, not Elvis) for those of you who don’t know. It means “run for it, run faster!” Well, actually, araauka means “swift”, so I’m not sure if I should be saying arauka or araukan to indicate swiftly. Hmmm. And why is it that I will gladly take time out of my day to learn Elvish, but not study for the GRE? Ahh, the mysteries of life.
