the friday five:
1. Is the name you have now the same name that’s on your birth certificate? If not, what’s changed? Same. Only change I can anticipate is marriage.
2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be? I like my name, if sometimes it feels a little common. At least I’m not named Ann. (If you know what my last name is, you’ll understand.) But I wouldn’t mind being Arienne or something pretty like that…something that sounds more Celtic than Jennifer (although it is from the Celtic white wave so go fig.)
3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?) My mom named me, but they both decided on it. They hadn’t read the article that the year I was born Jennifer was the most popular girl’s name. They did think I was going to be a boy for a while, so I was almost Mark or John, like my dad and grandfather and uncle 😉
4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why? I’m not so hot on Katy. Eh. I don’t think about names that much. I really like ancient sounding names…reminiscent of mythology, that sort of thing.
5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com / triggur.org / name analysis / astroexpert accurate? How or how isn’t it? Kabalarians is quite accurate. I like knowing the meaning behind my name…and sometimes it’s scary how much you can generalize names. I’ll have to spend a long time looking at name books when I finally do have children.
