the friday five:

1. What was your first Halloween costume? First? I have no idea. But my mom used to make me these really great costumes like Rainbow Brite and She-Ra and several princess outfits…I always loved dressing up on Halloween.

2. What was your best costume and why? Well. The Rainbow Brite costume was actually for a school play, but it was exceedingly well done. I had a yarn wig that looked exactly like the real cartoon thing 😉 lots of colored lame fabric, boot tops, the works. Even had a little purple star sticker for my cheek 🙂 But I would have to say *my* best costume is my Legolas one, as I made it myself.

3. Did you ever play a trick on someone who didn’t give you a treat? Nope. It took me a while to figure out that was where the phrase came from, that you were giving the person a choice between giving you a treat or you giving them a trick…

4. Do you have any Halloween traditions? (ie: Family pumpkin carving, special dinner before trick or treating, etc.) We always get together and have some sort of party. We have to have this special halloween punch (secret family recipie don’t you know). Now that no one is trick or treat age, we all just play games and wait for the adorable little ones to come to the door.

5. Share your favorite scary story…real or legend! Er. I’m not really a fan of scary stories anyway…we’d always just read something out of the ‘Really Scary Stories’ series. Although I suppose one sotry that really freaks me out is a short story by Ray Bradbury that I can’t even try to think of the title or it will creep me out again.
