PromoGuy dot Net: Monday Mission 3.44

Except it’s a Tuesday. Hmm. Didn’t get the email. Even thought about it yesterday…just forgot. As usual.

1. This week the Episcopal Church USA installed the Rev. V. Gene Robinson was as a bishop of New Hampshire. This would probably not be news if Robinson were not an openly gay man. Critics are upset because their beliefs view bible to be condemning of homosexuality. Another point of view sees this as an opportunity for the church to reach a wider audience. What do you think of the church consecrating an openly gay person as Bishop? Should a person’s sexual preferences be tied to religious beliefs? How do you think this should be handled? Should gay people in church leadership even be an issue? I think it’s just fine that he’s openly gay. As long as he believes in God, shoot, he’s better than most of us. I know a guy who’s very happily gay and also a staunch Catholic. Interesting, mmm? He’s more religious than me, and I am so definitely straight. I don’t think it should tie in. If this person can be a leader and a confidante, a comforter and a listener, then please send him to the top.

2. Have you ever supported an opposing viewpoint with someone just to “push their buttons?” Ever been in a situation where you really didn’t care for one side or the other, but just found it fun to watch someone get all worked up in an argument? I try not to get in arguments in the first place, but sometimes I’ll try the other side, just to see what else comes up. It’s good for brainstorming. But I tend not to make people mad if I can help it.

3. If you had to pick one, on which of the “Reality” shows do you think you do well? I might possibly do well in Survivor if all they had was physical/emotional obstacles. But I suck at anything political, and I do tend to have pretty obvious mannerisms, so I think I’d get voted off quite quickly. Unless I somehow developed a wonderful talent for fishing. I’d die in the dating shows. I have no experience. And things that embarrass you…count me out immediately.

4. Have you, or anyone you know, ever tried any “alternative” healing practices or “all natural” medication? How did it work out? Tried some of the homeopathic medicines out there…sometimes they seem to work. Although that could have a lot to do with the power of the placebo. Massages feel wonderful, and some aromatherapy seems to work…but unless you count chicken soup as an alternative practice I think that’s it.

5. If you cold write your own prescriptions, what is the first thing you would get? I’m lucky…I don’t need anything. I’d get medicine for my mom instead.

6. Are you getting a Flu shot this year? Do you ever get them? Have you ever had to endure a round of the full-blown Flu virus? I may or may not get the flu shot. It’s offered here at work, it’s just a matter of actually getting around to doing it. I have probably had the flu, maybe even twice this year, but usually I don’t get so sick that it’s termed the flu.

7. On television commercials, when men get sick they are portrayed like big whiny babies. Based on your personal experience, do you think this is an accurate depiction? My dad isn’t a whiny baby, he just gets stubborn. Of course, that’s probably what I do as well. I think it depends on if you’re the cubicle kind of guy or the people who didn’t graduate with a BBA.

BONUS: Girlfriend, how could you let him treat you so bad? It’s difficult for anyone of the male persuasion to treat me bad, as I have very little contact with them. Meh.
