it just doesn’t feel that way. I’ve been pretty sick lately, not a fun thing to be. I don’t know what it is, just that it sucks. But never fear, I’m getting better. Even writing some.
I have two job interviews on Tuesday. Hopefully I’ll come to the right job. Cross your fingers. And hope I’m not still sick.

Dear God, keep my parents well.

Friday Five

1. What is your most prized material possession? Honestly? I have no idea. Maybe a book. I really don’t know.

2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest? I’m sure there’s something in here from when I was a baby. I just don’t know where it is. Possibly an actual tangible item: the tiny ballet slippers hanging on my wall.

3. Are you a packrat? Hell yes.

4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum? Spick-n-span is nice but not possible.

5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there? Theme? Are you kidding? There’s no theme. Just find places to put stuff.

John and Lena were sitting down to their usual morning cup of coffee, listening to the weather report coming over the radio.

“There will be 3 to 5 inches of snow today, and a snow emergency has been declared,” the weather report said. “You must park your cars on the odd numbered side of the streets.”

John says “Jeez, okay,” and gets up from his coffee.

The next day they’re sitting down with their morning cups of coffee and the weather forecast declares “There will be 2 to 4 inches of snow today, and a snow emergency has been declared. You must park your cars on the even numbered side of the streets.”

Again, John says “Jeez, okay,” and gets up from his coffee.

Two days later, again they’re sitting down with their cups of coffee and the weather forecast says, “There will be 6 to 9 inches of snow today, and a snow emergency has been declared. You must park your cars on the – ”

Just then the power goes out and John doesn’t get the rest of the instructions.

He turns to Lena and says “Jeez, what am I going to do now, Lena?”

Lena replies “Aw, John, why don’t you just leave the car in the garage today?”

This or That

3. Paperback or hardcover book? Paperback for money reasons. I detest buying hardbacks, but I love having them. Just full of contradictions, aren’t I?

5. Golden oldies or the newest tunes? Top 40 stuff and soundtracks.

6. Ice cream: in a cone or a dish? Cone.

7. Bath or shower? Shower. Too lazy for the tub.

8. Are you outgoing or shy? Most of the time, shy.

9. Answer the phone when it rings, or screen calls? Caller ID.

10. VCR or TiVO? VCR. But I do love those dvds…can’t wait till it’s practical to record on dvds….

PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 3.07

1. For me, breakfast usually consists of a bagel and cream cheese. And I wait until about 10AM to eat it, mostly to avoid eating a mid-morning snack. What do you like to eat for breakfast? Do you even eat breakfast? If I’m up in the morning, I eat breakfast. I don’t work well if I don’t. It’s usually cereal with milk and orange juice. rarely oatmeal, occasionally just the oj…course, sometimes I eat breakfast around noon, if I get to sleep in 😉

2. Back in 1990, I worked at a radio station in the Promotions Department. Our office was directly below the DJ booth. One day there was this thundering bass booming from upstairs. It was just a huge booming sound, with an amazing beat. My manager and I bolted out of the office and up the stairs to the production room. When we opened the door I was smacked in the body by a wall of sound. What I heard reminded me of “Super Freak” but the bass was thumping like I’d never heard before. Then the vocals began, it was a “rap” I would never forget: “My, my, my music hits me so hard, makes me say ‘Oh, My Lord, thank you for blessin’ me, with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet.'” The song was MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” and it blew my mind. What was the song that “blew your mind” and is etched in your brain forever? Recall the moment and why it remains in your mind. You know, I honestly can’t recall a song like that. I usually go, wow, that song is good, but nothing mind-blowing. Perhaps something by John Mayer or DMB…I dunno.

3. Do you like to gamble? Have you ever won (or lost) big? Never gambled with actual money. My life, my time, maybe, and sometimes I lose. But I don’t think I’d be any good at betting. I usually lose.

4. Some people find comfort for their troubled mind in food. Others find it in music or books. What do you turn to for comfort when you are troubled or worried? I read, write, or pour my heart out to my online friends. That’s me, the introvert. Course, I eat too. Gotta love comfort food.

5. When was the last time you felt apathetic? What was it about? hah. usually?

6. I just read that Google bought Pyra Labs (Blogger.com). Although Blogging was going “mainstream” before this, it most certainly will now have greater exposure, and one assumes, bring us even more Bloggers. Is this a good thing? Didn’t know that about Pyra, good luck to them. I like Blogger. Everyone should do it. It’s nice to be able to find out about people without incurring expensive telephone bills 😉 Blogs are fun. It’s funny because I know I didn’t write this much in my journals. I’m better at typing now, so it’s much faster than writing…

7. What did you do with all your freetime before you blogged? I honestly don’t know. I didn’t spend it in paper journaling, I know that. I think I read more. I do notice that I’m reading less because I’m sitting in front of the computer. I think I must have done more homework or something…

I can play the last few bars of “3×5” on my guitar. The rest of the song, well…that will take some time.
