Friday Five
1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not? Sometimes. I really hate cold-calling anybody. This includes calling the pizza place to make an order. I don’t know why. It’s an irrational thing. If I like you, I like you to call. But I guess I’m more comfortable with email…less personal. Gee, I’m a drag.
2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone? Annie Hobbs.
3. About how many telephones do you have at home? Five. One in each bedroom, one in the kitchen, one in the living room, one downstairs…
4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened? Hmm. Probably. I probably waited them out and got out of it as soon as I could. I don’t like to hang up on people. Although…speaking of hanging up. One time I called my ex (I think we were on the rocks at the time) and his stepdad, who had an unexplainable hatred of me, answered. I asked if my ex was there, he said no, and hung up. Didn’t ask if he could take a message, didn’t let me ask if he’d be home, nothing. That’s just one of the reasons I am no longer with this particular ex.
5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not? Oops. Already answered this one. Email is best for me, letters are wonderful if you actually take the time to write them…phone calls just don’t happen to me. That’s why three girls could share one phone line like we did last year at school.

Hello Hon!!! Just dropping by to tell you I am still and very much okay. I wish to talk to you soon and longer I hope but let me get a card first so I can do all that. You know I wish nothing for you but be happy always, ( I am all getting mushy)
I’ll talk to you soon, I promise.
Missing you so much!
Love yeah always, meg
PS: I edited some stuff..Sorry.
This or That
1. Married or single? Single. For too long.
2. Knit or crochet? Knit, I suppose. Although I can’t do either.
3. Homebody or world traveller? In my dreams I’m the Princess of Travellers. In reality I stay quite close to home. Although most of that is because I have neither a car nor a job.
4. “Star Search” or “American Idol”? Neither, unless Smallville is a repeat.
5. Dancing or karaoke? Both!
6. Elvis Presley or Elvis Costello? Er. Elvish?
7. Bus or train? Don’t have much experience with either.
8. Batman or Superman? Superman, I think.
9. Chocolate or vanilla? Usually chocolate.
10. Which came first…the chicken or the egg? The chicken, I should think…
PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 3.10
1. What is the most boring project you have ever had to ? Eep. I don’t know. Probably something back when I was in elementary school and had to do something I’d already learned to do…
2. If you could be anyone or anything you wish, who or what would you want to be? Why? Someone with an impact on the world. A good impact. I’d love to really get into tissue engineering and help someone walk, or breathe, or have a working heart…
3. What is one thing you refuse to ever put in your mouth? Green peppers. Or mushrooms.
4.If you could film a documentary about yourself and have yourself followed for 1 day, what would that day look like? And
why? It would be pretty boring, as if I had my way I’d read all day or write, or surf the internet and chat…or make a layout…one of these days I’m gonna get out and run, yeah…
5. What is the longest distance you have ever traveled to meet someone for the first time (blind date, blogger meet-up, etc). Was it worth the trip? hmm. the farthest is probably coming up. If I can actually make it out to California to meet Lammy and some more Arrows 🙂
6. What do people usually assume about you that isn’t true? That I’m younger than 22.
7. What are you craving for lunch today? Nothing in particular.
BONUS: Take a look at me, tell me do you like what you see? I should hope so. Someone’s got to. Looking for that nice person to give me a job…or a sweet boy to fall for me…
Rock climbing
StandardI finally did it. I went rock climbing yesterday with my cousin Justin and my Aunt JoAnn. Whoohoo! I loved it, although I am nicely sore today. We did a couple of pretty easy routes, which Justin made look easy and both of us girls gamely attempted. I made it up all four of them, Aunt JoAnn only did three cause there was a run-in with Thor (their miniature poodle) and a large black dog. Don’t know what happened cause I was up on the side of a cliff at the time, but suddenly there was this barking and whining and Aunt JoAnn was rolling around on the ground trying to protect Thor from this huge dog. Weird. But all was well eventually, just Thor was all dusty ![]()
It was great weather for it, 77 deg F in the first week of March. Can you believe it? Then it got down to 37 later in the evening. Really windy though. Kite enthusiasts were having a ball, I’m sure.
Broke out my running tights and wore my shirt from indoor conference last year, in honor of the Wash U track team being at indoor conference this year. They weren’t doing so well on friday night when my dad and I checked the scores, so I thought I might as well cheer them on
ironically they’re competing in the same place (Brandeis U) that conf was at last year, due to the shortage of indoor tracks. But hoorah, the girls won (again
that’s five conferences in a row. Hopefully outdoor will show up a sixth, and a sixth year of winning outdoor confs. The guys got third, so congrats to them. Better luck outdoors!
I miss track. I really do. And I know it’s terrible, but I felt sort of good when I found out that the girls didn’t win by as large a margin as we did last year. You know, me and my two golds and placing in two other events which garnered me a MOP (most outstanding player) for the indoor conf. I mean, I’m glad they won. And indeed, all the things I won were won by Wash U gals…just not the same one. ah well. I know it’s gonna bug me for the rest of my life to have that one semester of eligibility left. I wonder what it would have been like if I could have run sophomore year, how much better I would have been when Coach Rubin joined us. But maybe it would have been worse. I don’t know. I shouldn’t worry about it. There’s not too much more I could have done to be happier with myself, aside from making it to Nationals. Which I dearly wanted to do. Alas, it was not to be.
I think it’s time for lunch ![]()
The Friday Five
1. What was the last song you heard? I Need You, Jars of Clay
2. What were the last two movies you saw? Moulin Rouge, LotR: FotR dvds
3. What were the last three things you purchased? book, book, gas…
4. What four things do you need to do this weekend? get a job. get a car. get a power cord. read.
5. Who are the last five people you talked to? Peter Shih, Dr. Di Cera (that’s Di Chera), Dad, Mom, Barb…
They come in pints?
StandardRandom, I know. I was actually thinking of how my interviews seem to come in clusters. Didn’t get anything for two months, and here I have four in two weeks. Two last week on the same day, one today, one tomorrow. Please dear Lord someone like me. Remember how I’m walking around with no insurance? Well. sort of. And I need a car/apartment/new iBook/loan repayment/direct deposit, so it’s to everyone’s good that I get a job, right? sigh. So, wish me luck again. or pray. yeah, praying is good.
Jars of Clay is cool. What the heck is pre-press? I am so caught in the classic catch-22 of need a job but need experience to get a job but need a job to get experience…
why doesn’t anyone want a fantasy writer who can make her own website? lol. ah well. I was hoping to get a new layout up in time for St Patricks day but given the fact that my laptop’s power cord is now in the electronic heaven has prevented that. Don’t think I’ll be able to get a new one before then. meh.
wish me luck. pray.
Legolas v. Anakin it’s good for a laugh.
and always funny, the Very Secret Diary of Legolas, Part II:
Day Twenty-nine: Aragorn back. Apparently taking header off cliff not as deadly as one would have thought. Told him to throw me down and shag me senseless, but he just clapped me on the shoulder in a manly fashion and said, “Yeah, it can get a little chapped sometimes but just put some lotion on it.”
Aragorn just kind of a wanker, really.
I’d laugh myself silly if it wasn’t after 2 in the morning and the parents wouldn’t notice.
I’ve got a job interview in exactly twelve hours, so wish me luck…
