Congrats to both the WU women's and men's track teams. They won the UAA conference championships this past weekend in Cleveland. You go, team! I wish I was there. Sigh.

Thanks for moving me up, folks. I've been in the forests of Lorien for several weeks now, and I finally made it back into the challenge! Means a lot to me. Of course, the wonder of all wonders would be to actually make it into the Tower in two weeks...anyway. Thanks for all your support and be sure to keep voting!

You might have noticed a bit of a snafu in the site on thursday night/fri morning, but all is well. There was a directional mishap with the renewal email making it to my inbox, and the company didn't send a reminder which makes me just want to scream. Anyway, it's all taken care of and etoiline.com will last for another year...and you can be sure I'll get my renewal in on time!

There will be more content soon, really. Cause I'm sure you all want to know more about my life and my passions. Ha. Moll is inspiring.

Yup, that's right, my parents have their 27th wedding anniversary today. I find it extremely amusing that I managed to buy my domain on my parent's anniversary. I remember being so happy to be out of school and done with finals that I bought it about 1 am the day of and then when I got into the control panel I was like, hey that date's familiar. lol. At least I'll always know when I have to renew...Congrats, I love you, Mom & Dad.

Here's the lyrics to that song I keep talking about, from the Children of Dune soundtrack. It's a little like that song from Gladiator, indeed the whole soundtrack sounds quite a lot like Hans Zimmer in Gladiator and Black Hawk Down...but it has a voice all its own. And the composer, Brian Tyler, went through all Frank Herbert's Dune books and used Herbert's invented language, Fremen, to write this song. It's so cool. Buy the soundtrack just for this song.

So, last night (er. Tuesday night, anyway) the eleventh book in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series came out. And since the lovely author, Laurell K Hamilton, lives in StL, we got to have the first book signing I wasn't able to get to the bookstore until about a half hour before she was supposed to start signing, so I got a really high line number. As I have a job interview tomorrow (pray/cross your fingers/send good vibes my way) and I need to get to bed, I'll give you the really short version: it took over four hours to get my books signed. Sheesh. Not that I don't love the lady and her books but good Lord that's insane. So I basically mucked around a bookstore all night. They even kept the place open for at least 45 min after closing time so we could all get our books signed. Strangely enough I couldn't seem to read the book too much while I was waiting (I perused other items in the store) and I think it was because I was in too much of a hurry to get to the store so I didn't bring my cd player. Sigh. I love to read to music. I know that weirds some people out, but I need something in the background. I didn't get home until a little after midnight. Ah well. And then I stayed up reading half the book...and with an amazing show of willpower, I managed to shut it and go to sleep. Only to wake up and read the rest of it. It's shorter than the last, which is disappointing, but other parts of the book more than made up for that. And now I really wish she was only writing the one series so the next book will come out very quickly...alas I think we have to wait at least a year and a half. More if/when I have time.

So I said I'd keep this short. Hah. Ok. One more good thing. Finally got the Children of Dune soundtrack. Track 8: Inama Nushif has been on repeat for the last few hours. mmm.

Damn but I hope the new book is good, and something that I'm hoping for is in there...you should read them I'll have to take the last book with me for a little light reading while I'm waiting

btw, I know I said I'd have a new layout. the layout is actually done. but the php stuff isn't. I think I'll have to do it in stages. Egad but I hate modems.
