Doesn’t someone want to go to Boston with me?

Museum of Science – Lord of the Rings Boston’s MoS is having the only exhibition of the LotR memoribilia and other such things related to the film in the US. I really want to go. It’s there until October…which incidentally is about the time when I should be in Kansas City for the renaissance festival…anyone interested in that?
Jesus, I need more friends. I don’t have anyone to go to the Moonlight Ramble with either, unless Leo or Alex change their minds. Sigh. This is where I missed out being an only child…no built-in trip buddies.

2 days and one thing Bush did right

Two days! Two days! Eek! I’m excited, can you tell? lol. Tomorrow at 10 we’ll be standing in the cold, waiting for the doors to open…hopefully this year we won’t have to crane our necks from sitting too close to the screen…hopefully we’ll get good seats. RotK here we come! Expect an hourly countdown tomorrow wink
I meant to mention this last night when I was waiting for Survivor to finish, but thank goodness they finally captured Saddam Hussein. I do hope he gets what he deserves. Now if they could only catch Osama bin Laden and get the hell out of Iraq I’d be happy. Why does Bush think that spending money and troops so lavishly and continuously (still!) that the place is going to get any better? Eh. I hate politics.
btw, the Spiderman 2 teaser trailer is online. I saw it off a link on yahoo.com but I’m sure that it’s several other places on the web. Whee!

The Elven Brooch

I started making the elven brooch last night. For such a simple-looking thing, it’s pretty difficult to get right. Add to that it’s been some years since I’ve done any clay work, and you might gather it’s been an interesting experience. And I had green thumbs because the clay is super-saturated with color. We’ll see if it looks anything like the real one. And I suppose it doesn’t matter anyway as it’s significantly cheaper. Now if I can only figure out how to make the quiver…and how on earth am I supposed to get the not-knives to California?
